No one likes to carry everything in their hands. No matter what you are doing you always have something on you that needs to be stored. Be it on the way to the bakery, the office or the local crag, it is unimaginable without a bag to carry your bits and bobs. And since there are so many different uses and therefor different bags we want to try and clarify some of these variations and what to look out for when buying a bag.
The first question you should ask yourself when purchasing a bag is what do i primarily want to use it for and how. much space it should provide. A light weight jacket for example will take up more space than a smaller, yet heavier laptop.
Here is a short list of suggested use:
What type of bag do you need/want?
In the climbing world at least there are three main categories of bags you can use, rope bags, shoulder bags and backpacks. Like the name suggests it the rope bag is necessary for transport of your indoor / outdoor climbing rope. This bag doesn't have many other functions, the tard should be included and ideally have coloured edges to attach the two ends of the rope to avoid a knot. The shoulder bag is handy in bouldering, such as the Moon Boulder Bag, it has enough space to fit the necessary gear such as shoes, water bottle, chalk bag, brush and a snack. The backpacks are available in many different sizes and therefor have multiple purposes such as described above.
