The NOMIC ice axe is designed for efficient placement on various types of ice. It has a perfectly balanced and shaped ice axe for excellent swinging, and the curve under the head makes hooking easier. The PUR'ICE pick is tapered at the tip (3mm) for better penetration in different types of ice, including hard ice, and has teeth on the upper side for stable support. The MASSELOTTES weights optimize inertia and striking quality.
The ice axe also features a comfortable grip designed for technical ice climbing, with a double handle (high and low) for multiple grip modes and stable hand switching. The lower handle is angled to protect the hand from ice contact and to provide comfort when suspended, and the upper handle is overmoulded and bi-material for an excellent grip and insulation from the cold. The hydroformed shaft provides optimal grip in the middle of the shaft.
The ALPEN ADAPT system makes the ice axe fully modular, with a modular head that allows for technical adjustments. The picks can be changed to adapt to different terrain objectives (snow, ice, or mixed), the adze and hammer are interchangeable, and it comes with a MINI MARTEAU to protect the head and hammer pitons back in. The ice axe is lightweight for dry tooling (only 500 g) without accessories. The GRIPREST NOMIC handrest is overmoulded and adjustable to three positions to fit different hand sizes, even when wearing gloves, and has a toothed stainless steel point for improved support in piolet-canne mode. The connection hole is compatible with V-LINK elasticated loss-prevention webbing.
