Why we love it

The Reverso is the benchmark lightweight multi-purpose belay device, and at 57 g it's the one that stays on the harness for everything. It belays a leader, rappels on one or two strands, and in Reverso mode belays one or two seconds independently and simultaneously with assisted braking – the mode that makes multi-pitch days work. V-shaped friction grooves give controlled braking across a wide diameter range, and the rounded rope slots let the rope glide smoothly while limiting wear on both rope and device. A release hole lets the belayer give slack to a second using a single carabiner. Rope installation diagrams for both belay and Reverso modes are engraved on the body.
