Why we love it

The Assist solves one of the most common real-world belay problems – climbing with a partner who is significantly lighter or heavier than you. It increases rope friction so a lighter belayer can catch and hold a heavier lead climber's weight. The patented cam construction is the clever part: resistance activates only during a fall or lowering, and the rope is never blocked completely, so rope handling stays smooth and catches stay soft and dynamic. It also activates when a climber falls directly into the first quickdraw, with additional friction generated through V-shaped slots at the bottom – instant braking power in exactly the moment when ground-fall risk is highest. Two modes cover weight differences up to 35 kg, or up to 45 kg in Boost Mode.
