Why we love it
The Vapor V is a tried-and-trusted bastion of Scarpa's Balanced Performance series, with an impeccable blend of performance, comfort, versatility, and durability – equally at home in an indoor boulder gym or on windswept granite towers. Built around the relatively low-volume FR last, it has a slightly asymmetrical, slightly downturned profile. The microfibre upper and padded air-mesh tongue pair with opposing Velcro straps for an instantly comfortable fit and secure heel hold, while a Flexan midsole partners the Bi-Tension™ rand to offer optimum support. Vibram® XS Edge rubber adds precision edging. Often mistaken for a mid-range shoe, the Vapor V's complex 7-panel construction, precise fit, and premium feature set say otherwise.

- Vibram® XS Edge: A firm, supportive edging compound offering precise weight distribution on the smallest holds – high resistance to deformation for stability and shape retention across a wide range of temperatures.
- Bi-Tension™ Active Rand: A tensioned rubber wrap extending from the toes to the heel down both sides of the shoe – provides forefoot precision and toe-to-heel support while leaving the centre pad free for sensitivity.
- Split outsole: A divided sole that allows more flexibility than the standard Vapor – improving sensitivity and freedom of movement without sacrificing edging support.
- M70 Toe Rand: A minimal toe rand and patch in M70 rubber (Shore A 70) – adds forefoot containment and durability while minimising bulk.
- 7-panel upper: A complex multi-panel microfibre construction with a padded air-mesh tongue – a precise, comfortable fit that holds shape and eliminates hot spots.
