Why we love it

The Veloce flips the script on what a developing climber needs. Far from the stiff, flat, neutral shoes historically pushed on newer climbers, the modern gym – the gateway into the sport for most people today – calls for something poles apart. Slightly asymmetrical, slightly downturned, with a punchy toe box and soft midsole, the Veloce is an adaptive, super-sensitive shoe perfectly in tune with the dynamic, friction-based movement found on modern gym walls. Built on an entirely new last, just the right amount of tension is applied to a panelled Lorenzi microfibre upper for a strong compressive feel with unprecedented comfort for such a technically capable model. Ultra-sticky M50 rubber wraps the outer rand and toe box, mounted on 4 mm of S72 outsole rubber for excellent traction on indoor surfaces and fine-grained rock. Initially developed as a progression model, its true brilliance is that it's now an ability-spanning shoe – enjoyed equally by beginners and competition climbers.
